How do I know if I'm doing my citations correctly?

The best way to know if your citations are correct is to double check them against good sample citations. The Purdue OWL website shows correct citation formats for a variety of source types in both MLA and APA format.

Also, on the UHMC Library's Citing Sources Research Guide there is a helpful section on Citation Elements that visually shows you the correct elements, in the correct order, and in the correct format for your citations.

If you still need help with your citations, please email UHMC's citation guru, librarian Ellen Peterson, at epeterso@hawaii.edu
